CORNSTEEP
CORNSTEEP is a liquid full of soluble corn nutrients used as a cost-effective source of protein for livestock and fish.
CORNSTEEP contains the soluble fraction of the kernel which is extracted during the wet milling process. The liquid left after the starch, germ and gluten have been separated out is concentrated to produce CORNSTEEP. As well as soluble proteins, vitamins and minerals, it contains organic acids, and has a lactic acid content equivalent to approximately 20% on the Dry Matter. CORNSTEEP can be added to improve feed pellet quality and as a binder for unpelleted feed. It is also used as an additive for bait by sport fishermen in the sport fishing market.
CORNSTEEP for ruminants
Cornsteep is a yellow-orange liquid which is used in ruminant feeds as a multi-nutrient raw material and effective feed pellet binder. Cornsteep is an excellent source of rumen degradable protein for cattle, goats and sheep and combines well with fibre rich feed materials to stimulate rumen microbial protein production.
CORNSTEEP for poultry
Cornsteep is to be used in poultry feeds as a protein source and to improve feed pellet quality. Poultry feeds which are produced in meal form also benefit from the addition of Cornsteep liquid, as it reduces the amount of free dust particles in the mixture. Further, the addition of Cornsteep to the feed provides a grain colour to the feed, which is greatly appreciated by the farmer.
CORNSTEEP for pigs
Cornsteep is a yellow orange liquid which is used in pig feed as a multi-nutrient raw material and light coloured pellet binder. Cornsteep is a source of proteins and lactic acid, which is known to benefit the health of the animals’ intestinal tract.
CORNSTEEP for aquaculture
Cornsteep is a liquid protein source which may be used in specific aquafeed diets. It is used as an attractant in sport fish feed purposes and to improve the uptake of the feed by the fish.
